Laboratory Planning, Construction, and Management, Focusing on the Entire Life Cycle of Laboratories

Aug 06,2025

analytica China 2026, a significant event in Asia for analysis, biochemistry, diagnostics, and laboratory technology, will take place from November 16 to 18, 2026, at the Halls of N1-N5 & E6-E7 in Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).

The exhibition area of Laboratory Design, Construction and Management, the multi-theme live simulation laboratory Live Lab, and multiple high-quality laboratory conferences and forums will be unveiled in Hall N1 of SNIEC. From laboratory planning and construction to management, operation & maintenance, safety, intelligence, and advanced technologies and operation of scientific research instruments, this event will enable participants to thoroughly explore scientific research ecosystems for users and entire life cycles of laboratories.

Keyword 1: Booming Period of Laboratory Construction

In July 2025, significant progress was made in reshaping the national key laboratory system. According to incomplete statistics from public information, in China, nearly 500 laboratories have been approved or restructured. Among them, 418 have been officially unveiled, covering cutting-edge fields such as aerospace, food processing and safety, traditional Chinese medicine, materials, petrochemicals, coal mining, cross-media artificial intelligence, and natural medicine R&D. More than 110 "Double First-Class" universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Zhejiang University participated in the construction of about 80% of these laboratories (nearly 400), forming an innovation network with deep industry-university-research integration.

Keyword 2: Low Carbon and Intelligence Become the Core Direction

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the Key Laboratory Construction Plan (2025-2035) [01] in 2025, clarifying eight strategic areas. The goal is to build about 100 ministerial-level key laboratories by 2035 to provide scientific and technological support for the construction of a beautiful China. Notably, the research on environmental risk assessment and control mechanisms of new pollutants, application technology of environmental risk assessment of new pollutants, and application of environmental risk control of new pollutants are listed as key directions.
